Spring is called the season of rebirth and renewal for good reason. And spring cleaning isn’t only limited to your home. Now is a great opportunity to review your fashion or lifestyle brand’s copy and content to make sure you’re really feeling it.
Website copy refresh
Go through your website and check if there is any copy that feels outdated, stale, or simply off. Be sure to look in the nooks and crannies — micro copy on footers and sidebars, and pages that may not be the most central. You’d be surprised at what you might find. See what you can remove, update, or add. The refreshed version should feel relevant, exciting, and unapologetically you.
Update automated emails
You may be consistent with your newsletters and promo emails, but when was the last time you updated your automated flows and sequences? Welcome emails, abandoned cart emails, post-purchase confirmations, birthday promos, re-engagement sequences — anything that’s set up to send without you thinking about it. Make sure you’re still feeling them, update accordingly, and then go back to not thinking about them for a while.
Email list clean up
Go through your email list and remove inactive subscribers. A large quantity of inactive subscribers reduces your open rates, which negatively impacts your overall deliverability score. Getting rid of inactive subscribers is like giving your hair a much-needed trim: it eliminates the dead ends so your fresh new locks can shine. A smaller list of active subscribers leads to higher open rates, better deliverability, and ultimately higher conversion.
Review & update blog content
One great thing about blog content? You don’t always have to reinvent the wheel. Go through your existing blog posts and see if anything needs to be revised, updated, or cleaned up. This can mean adding newer information, removing broken links, reformatting for better readability, or updating keywords and meta descriptions. You might be surprised at how well a simply-updated blog post begins to (re)perform.
